In the early 70’s, Jean Paul mounted his own foundry and began to experiment with the art of casting. Long before educational courses were offered in the art of creating with metals, he set up ateliers  which allowed him to continue  his research in the art of casting. He has always tried to push the knowledge of this art to its limits through experimenting as a designer, sculptor and caster.

In 1984, Huguette Joncas, painter and sculptor, became Jean Paul Garneau’s associate. In December 2007, they moved to the Iles-de-la-Madeleine and renovated a building which was the Islands’ first museum. Creations Garno-Joncas has thus become the first atelier and art gallery dedicated to the art of foundry.
